Yes. Several people I know do this on a regular basis, and the file format is the same.

Does the OSX version support NatBib?

As far as LyX is concerned: Yes.

I have done this with Windows and Linux very many times in the past, even with large and complex documents. Never did I encounter a conflict, even when version numbers of LyX varied slightly.
