-If it comes from limited IP range, deny (reject) a range as small as
possible.
-If you can enable moderation, do so.
-If you can syndicate your guestbook, you can clean it up quickly after spam
attacks.
-Have a CAPTCHA or other gatekeeeping mechanism in place.
-Use a different (safer or less popular, i.e. scarcely known) guestbook
package.
-Or just give up the guestbook altogether and let the spammers be
victorious.
