Not within the TE itself.

 But you can just set SilkDimmer to it's lowest position which will be the
backlight off, and it will stay there until you readjust it. 

When you tap the SilkDimmer icon,  you will see an "enable" checkbox. If you
check this it will replace your TE brightness slider with the SilkDimmer
brightness slider which goes from max brightness to off. So you don't have to
mess going back to the SilkDimmer icon/app all the time when you want to
readjust. Just do it in the normal way as you did with the TE slider. Neat...
