Better look at:

  man convert

"-colors" seems like what you are after. By the way sloppy writing does not
help understand what you are trying to achieve. Regardless, here is an
example script:

for file in ls *.jpg
 do
  echo ${file}
  convert ${file} -colors 2 ${file}.jpg
done
