Allow me to add one word: "safely", i.e. without catching an infection in the
interim.

To some extent, yeah... that was the case with version/s 4.x.

Install Linux, run virtualisation software: The logical equivalent of buying
a car for the stereo (essentially sitting in a parked car listening to
music).
