joins the many thousands abandoned OSS projects, it just proves that

Er -- um....the project was hugely successful in terms of customer base.

He just couldn't figure out how to make money from it.

Several things he could have done with all that notoriety would be:

1) Write an NDOC book and promote it on the site.
2) Use his established base and get venture capital
3) Add additional fee software such as formatters and pretty-prints
