No, I haven't, I'm afraid. I think it may have great potential because many
of these Ajax'y interfaces they consistently use (e.g. see similarities
between Google Trends and charts in Google Finance) are excellent in terms
of usability. Speaking of Ajax:

I read this article as soon as it was published, so I guess I am among the
first few people to have become aware of Ajax (which is just a catch
phrase).

I really have no experience with it, but I imagine that knowledge of JS is
needed if you want to modify it, rather than use the interfaces. Google have
some neat API's and hooks -- an approach/trait that Microsoft /et al/ lacked
due to the closed development model.
