Macros were implemented and incorporated in StarOffice merely for Office
compatibility. People require these opaque BASIC executables, as secure as
they may be (compare with ActiveX), to unshackle their data. OpenOffice does
not take this approach. On top of Linux, it is also more secure
(executability is restricted or discouraged).
