Not enough. It's closer, but still no cigar.

The user will be able to give Linux a try, but the CD will be accompanied
with other media containing junk (AOL and affiliates spring to mind), which
will lose appeal (and priority) as soon as the shiny new box arrives.

The closer you get, the better. Boot menu with Linux as default and
automagical choice after 5 seconds of idleness would be best. Users will
inevitable be exposed to Linux in this way. That's how I discovered Windows
3.1, Norton Commander, and a whole large variety of games and programs.

That's what the debate here is all about. *smile*

The FreeDOS is potentially a trap, a honeypot. Linux has no cost, so why
don't Dell, for example, deliver it? Distribution abundance?!?! Oh,
Puh-Lease! Many people will jump onto Linux regardless of what wraps the
Linux kernel and the DE (many distros have a multiple choice).
