I seems obvious that he no longer takes pleasure in his daytime job. You can
go further and ask whether it's the antitrust lawsuits and hatred or just
the many disappointments, from a technical point-of-view, rather than
litigious. The man will not be missed. Many other from Redmond disappeared
into the suburbs and lived a live of wealth, inevitably with some feelings
of guilt.

There comes a point in every leader's (e.g. president) live when s/he worries
about how s/he will be remembered by future generations. That must be part
of the reason he also had a hand on a computing museum.
