True, Dom. However, one of the merits of spreading them in this way is that
it reduces the noise-to-signal ratio. Many threads are from errand trolls
and inane posters, who make the newsgroup look like a joke.
Additionally, following up a digest makes it hard (think mailing lists
digests). The replies are out of context and it is hard to filter/score
based on the subject.
