I've got three Debian servers running at the University. Not one of
them has required a minute of attention since I set them up back in
April. Two of them have been running continuously since then, while the
third is having a bit of trouble. Turns out I had to use some barely
supported hardware, and the driver is kinda crappy (it might be better
now, but I don't really care). Every couple of weeks it'll panic the
kernel. However, it's a service that can afford a few minutes of
down-time every now and then (web-cam), so I just set the kernel to
reboot on panic. Not a great problem as the hard-disk isn't touched
during normal operation.
My guess is that these three servers aren't counted in the statistics
either.

Q: God, root, what's the difference?
A: God can change the byte order on the CPU, root cannot.
