FPS rate could probably be improved by reducing screen resolution. I imagine
they could attain 6x1600 by 4x1200 pixels, but it needs better architecture
to bear the load. In the Visualisation Centre where I work they have some
state-of-the-art equipment, but it is /far/ less affordable than the above.
A fornight ago I was using a pointing device that cost about 10,000 pounds.
*gasp*

A data projector would be more suitable for that (my Supervisor has
projectors in his two offices), but it would have never offered the same
level of detail which is needed for Warcraft 2 to be played, for example. I
still wonder how practical it is to manage from that 'hot' yet distance
seat. Speaking of WC2, I still have that game's win32 binaries on my
hard-drive. Warcraft 1 and 2 were quality!
