In general, Dell hardware is very Linux-compatible (despite those
compatibility labels that are bound to them). I have never come across any
difficulties. I am using Linux on two Dell machines and I hear about similar
success stories from others. The only caveat is: Dell don't openly support
Linux (although that has changed in the past fortnight).
