Board Meets Developer Needs as Open Source Goes Mainstream
(OSDL recently launched a new technical advisory board (TAB))
| Question: What prompted the formation of the new board?
| Hanrahan: The decision to form the TAB was driven by the development
| community. They recognized and established a much-needed channel for
| OSDL members to more fully understand how to support the community's work.
| The formation of the new board reflects the ongoing maturation of Linux
| and open source. The needs of the open source community are more
| critical today than ever before as open source software goes
| mainstream. Being able to fully understand the community'srequirements
| and finding ways to meet those requirements are important components in
| today's evolving software industry.
