Microsoft seem to be taking a new tack here, that of announcing
partnerships with a huge range of OSS organisations.  Presumably they'll
be using this over time to claim that they're really close to
open-source, and have fine open-source credentials, perhaps the little
used word "fidelity" will make another comeback somewhere in the
marketing material.

As time passes, we should look out for Erik F claiming that MS have an
engaging and positive open-source strategy, and "proving" this claim by
listing the large number of OSS projects which they're partnering with. 

At some point, somewhere, the definition of "partner" will be shown to
the world in this particular context.  At this stage, it appears to mean
"really useful to be able to use your name in our press releases".
