This worries me you know, you don't need a powerfull nose to smell the shit
that is coming our way.

Of all the things MS has done this is the one that could spell disaster, the
question is, what form of disaster.

We will have users with no anti-virus, no third party protection, on
machines that we already know are not going to be safe.

The financial costs of data espionage.
Loss of trust of all of the Internet including those that we have learnt to
trust.
Probably much more downtime because an easy target is too much temptation.

And the gains from Vista? None, there is nothing on the list of new items
that makes any of this worth while.

I really do wish that international gorvernments will take a stand and
insist on a minimum level of security. Including handing all of the
security over to a third party software security developer. Maybe
coordinated by someone we all know and trust such as Cisco, IBM, Trend,
Sunsystems. Maybe a group effort would be needed.

What I am certain of is that MS are not going to come up with a safe
solution.
