I imagine they'll follow Google's and YouTube's (among other third-party
tools) model of adopting Flash 7. If not, considering that nothing is gained
by opting for version 8 (not as far as video and codecs should be
concerned), then that would be an informed and delibearate choice. It will
be intersting to /watch/ (or not, depending on the version).

Macromedia's (Adobe) suite permits saving of Flash (.fla) as older versions,
so there should be no excuse. For instance, it allowed me to save SWF that
iwascompatible with version 5 rather than version6 back in the days. What's
noteworthy is that I only came to discover this when I posted my first
UseNet message (ever!)... back in 2001 or 2002.
