Can you explain how this contradicts anything I have written so far?
Moreover, I think my blog entry, http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2006/07/03/
has a very good point.

Like I said many times before: I use MS because I use applications that
have no alternative on other OSes that fit my requirements. That's a thing
a lot of Linux zealots don't get, sadly.

Anyway, if I can switch to Apple, why bother? If I can step away from MS
Windows, it's because somehow my requirements have changed or finally the
software I use is available as OS. I prefer to move to GNU/Linux in that
case, or a *BSD. Or maybe even HURD, since maybe by that time, when people
don't concentrate on "we are better because" BUT on "we haven't still
fixed that issue", HURD is finished, and I can play Duke Nukem forever on
it.

Coming from any Linux zealot (or zealot in general) "apologetic face" can
be considered a huge compliment, because it means I have hit a spot. Sadly
instead of thinking the common zealot prefers to dig for more FUD.

Finally, I don't defend MS. I just provide a counter weight to all the FUD
people keep spreading. You can't convert people by making up bullshit
about operating systems, their origins, etc. Like I said earlier regarding
browsers: people use it for several reasons, and if you ridicule those
reasons, they consider it a personal attack, even in the rare case that
you are right.
