I agree - there was nothing wrong with the original name.  Worse, I
actually agree with our Microsoft Shill, Erik, here.  Pidgin has a poor
history, originally spoken between British and Chinese traders because
the Chinese saw English as a barbarian language, and although later that
view changed as pidgin itself was seen as humiliating, so Chinese or
English became preferred.  Either way, it is a poor choice.
