This should help bring medicines within the reach of far more people,
should speed development of drugs and treatments, and provide
opportunities for smaller research companies to compete on a more level
playing field with the larger ones.  It will also serve to share the
cost of drugs development across a much wider community, so the
development of the next generation of drugs will be less dependent on
stock-market performances, and more dependent on the creativity and
investigative capabilities of research and development scientists and
production engineers.
