The stock doesn't matter in my humble opinion. The big challenge would be to
continue selling software to a large proportion of the market. People become
more dependent on Web services and Open Source software (with ot without
Linux) affects the need for shrink-wrapped boxes with CDs. Microsoft can use
price hikes as long as there's a lockin. That's where the tsunami of
lobbying for ODF kicks in. And antitrust could come due to breaking of
Samba, attempted hijacking of the Web, irregular formats, etc. Europe could
fine millions per day.
