You could do similar with Firefox and the TrackMeNot extension. It does
random searches to whatever engines you pick at a select rate (I do one
per minute).

It's wasn't created to up the counts of anything. It was created to
stymie search engines' methods of creating profiles on people by making
it impossible to narrow down just what they're really searching for.
But there's no reason it couldn't be used to boost the numbers of one
engine over another.

Leave it to MS, though, to find a dishonest way of boosting their
numbers.
