It is a sad thing really that even a troll has no
respect for human decency, no sense of remorse, no
sense of compassion, etc.

Idiots like "Dr Pain" should be kill-filed on day one.

Honestly, what would one hope to gain by reading it's
posts?

It is trolls like him that resulted in AIOE closing
posting to COLA, citing abuse. Advocate complaints
triggered that several times in the past year, most
recent about two months ago. That lasted for about 6
weeks. Clean-up in COLA was immensely felt.

The only ones who side with him are several trolls,
which tells you where they come from. They are no
better than he (or she).

Hopefully aioe will consider doing the same thing again.
Perhaps, if this behaviour continues for long enough, they
might take further action.

AIOE is responsive. All it takes is a couple advocates to
document and submit legitimate abuses to them. It is noble
that they are one of the few that provide a free, posting
Usenet service. It is unfortunate that some ill mannered
souls cannot respect reasonable netiquette, reasonable respect for the intent and purpose of the newsgroup
(charter), and cannot respect the posting community. Worst,
they have no respect for the truth.

The Charter and FAQ of this group do have a significant status
which cannot be ignored, something many of our trolls appear
to be ignorant of. I'm personally very much in favour of
having anonymous posting opportunities, as I'm quite sure that
there are people out there who might struggle to be heard in
any other way, however, that does not excuse the kind of
hired-trolling on behalf of huge business interests which
characterises much of the cola troll narrative.

It does and the charter's history is significant, too. The FAQ has a few rough spots, but overall it describes the benefits of Linux compared with other operating systems. It also has an accurate description of the trolling behaviour of the misfits.

An outsider reading through the threads will immediately be able to see that c.o.l.advocacy is infested with trolls. It is also not hard to see through their arguments, which are weak. What is sad is that such uncivilised behaviour tends to drive people away.
