"Free software" as in software that respects, protects, facilitates, and
honours one's freedom (it's not about price).

Welcome to Open Source 2.0

| There is no doubt that 3 February 1998 was a historic day. For it was then,
| at a meeting in Mountain View, that a small group led by Eric Raymond
| came up with the term “open source” as an alternative to the description
| “free software”. The question is, will history count 21 June 2007 as
| another such pivotal moment – the day that Open Source 2.0 was born?

|
| I suppose we could always go back to calling it “free software”....

The [OSS] is from now on deprecated. I might accidentally use it every now and
then (force of habit), but with 'mixed source' companies (e.g. Novell) and
repackagers like Xandros and Linspire (let alone 'open sourcers' from the
Vole), it's back to Free software ([FS]). I'll check licences and ignore 'open
source' moochers. It's back to the roots. No need to name and shame
anyone. :-)
