I have had two oddities recently with Outlook users, one user told me in the
corridor that January and February emails have disapeared, but none before
and none after. Then while I was trying to find a reason and hitting
blanks, someone said 'That happened to me too, Jan and Feb completely
vanished from the Inbox, and only the inbox, no sub folders affected'. Same
months the only difference being 320 miles, this other user is a sales rep.
I found all of the emails on the machine here, each email was in a seperate
.bak file, everything from the 1st Jan 07 to 28th Feb 07. I recovered
those. When the sales rep got home he looked and also found his emails in
.bak files for the same period.
I don't have a reason for it yet, talked to my Windows pals and they haven't
heard of this one. Anti-virus and security are all up to date.
I know it is only two and I can not see others on google asking the same
question, but it doesn't look accidental to me, there must be something
going on.
