I agree wholeheartedly with that assessment.  It is an example of the
innovator's dilemma as per Christensen's book.  If you keep adding
"sustainability" changes, as per the Edsel or Vista; even bigger engine,
even more impressive wings, even wider bench-seats and so on, then the
upcoming models which have not yet threatened your main market suddenly
have an opportunity to offer the /same performance/ at a much reduced
price, with other advantages.  Vista is in much the same position.
