SAMBA is a configuration nightmare as a brief trip to
alt.os.linux.ubuntu or the ubuntu forums will prove.

Yes, when it's working it works well. But boy does it need an overhaul
with regards to usability for the common desktop user who just "wants it
to work".

Yes. We heard that before. Yet to be proven. Especially since MS's foray
into licensing Linux. Do you have some proof?

Now I know someone out there is going to claim, "Well then, UNIX is intuitive,
because you only need to learn 5000 commands, and then everything else follows
from that! Har har har!"
