Shipping Vista (more like an alpha of it) was also an achievement. Never mind
the quality, as long as a few people will pay for new software (which they
cannot escape after 2007).

Longhorn /is/ Vista, tweaked for server purposes. Vista /is/ Server 2003 (XP
tweaked for server purposes), plus 6 months involving the strapping of some
code onto it (October 2005-March 2006).

I'll repeat some citations/link which show why it's game over for Windows (in
its current form).

More than half of Microsoft Vista needs re-writing

| as much effort as it takes to brush your teeth in the morning. No nightmare

| hasn't Microsoft kept up? Unmaintainable"
|
| "Right now, Microsoft has nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide. After all

| wouldn't go that far, but I am wondering how we?re ever going to take

|
| 2007: No, really Windows Vista, honest
