"Undoes all the good Apple bought into the world"?

Hahahahahahaha....*ahem*...excuse me, somebody's in serious
need of a reality check. :-)

Of course, I'm wondering whether this was The Woz, who
used to be such a great gadget fan, or Jobs, who was
supposedly the "Mister Businessman" of Apple, if my
memory is correct.

But never mind. He'd better start learning how to swim
in "Open Sauce", lest he drown in its subtle spices. :-)

They're better dead anyway. While the iPhone's software
is pretty neat, and the iPhone's display system nice,
the actual EDGE hardware sucks boulders through a soda
straw, from all accounts I'm aware of.

Well, doesn't that sound just like Microsoft's issues with
modified XBoxes? *smirk*

Well, personally, I'm not certain. Of course, given these
reports one does have to wonder.

The ad I got for Winserver 2003 is interesting:

(Illinois) STATE GOVERNMENT SAYS LINUX WAS TOO BIG A RISK

Mmm, toast, with FUD dressing.

Of course Apple has its own issues. I'm not sure what to make of them.

The best Apple might do is find the hackers who declare "we've opened
the IPhone", and sic the feds on them using DMCA. The intent of the
DMCA, after all, is to prohibit circumvention of DRM systems.

The courts, admittedly, will probably take a dim view of
all this, if it ever gets there (various circuit judges
have already thrown out attempts to ban sales of mature
video games to minors, which they regard as a form of
censorship, apparently). However, the DMCA is law until
thrown out.

Oops.

If Apple is going to get serious about this, they'd better think
about 1024-bit digital signatures. (And then they'd better
think of ensuring the physical key doesn't get stolen.)

We'll see. On a phone, Linux is invisible -- until DRM gets involved.

Is it cheaper to learn Linux, or to hire someone
to fix your Windows problems?
