$17 billion cash? Didn't they once sit on a $60 billion cash reserve at one
time? Wow, where did all the cash go?

Cash and all equivalents, i.e. money in the bank and stocks, bonds, and credit accounts, is more like $35B than $17B. Don't trust Roy and them to get anything right.

But where did it go from the $60B days? Some $45B has been paid back to the stockholders as cash dividends since then. A $3 per share dividend several years ago depleted the reserves to around $25B, IIRC, and it has been building back since then since MSFT is not paying out all of its profits as dividends by any means. Some of the profits have gone into settling the various lawsuits around the world and a lot more has gone into a buyback program for the MSFT stock since management sees it as a bargain.

That is a sign of strength, by the way, not weakness.
