Thats just crap - all it leads to is stagnation in
creativity. It has not been well thought out - just
opinions that have been bought by lobbyists nibbling
away in secretive committees and their members.
They should be seeking to harmonize it with patents
and bring it down to 20 years or less.
They should consult more widely.
Consulting more widely means asking the people
what they want instead of hiding away from
those who elect them and taking bribes from lobbying firms.
Asking the people means going out to the streets
holding meetings at important events and taking
stock of public opinions and changing laws to
meet changing public expectations.
