Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly:

> This confirms what was pretty much known. Only the cash cows keep
> Microsoft afloat.

Which begs the question, why does Microsoft continue sticking it's
fingers into everyone else's pies?

Oh wait... (see sig).

In reality, they know that their only two profitable toys on the shelf
(Windows and Office) are destined for obsolescence in the long term,
thanks to Free Software, WEB 2.0, and an increasing push towards SOA.
So they know they need to diversify. Pity they're so inept at everything
they've attempted thus far.

Like I said in another post, and I *am* serious, if they're going to
diversify then why don't they pick something in an entirely different
industry ... like banking? They're money worshippers anyway, so it fits.

They just want to survive. Fine. Let them. But let them please survive
somewhere else, outside of the IT industry. Preferably somewhere far,
far away. Like on the planet Mars, or something. That fits too, since
their ideas and ideologies are so alien :)
