This is precisely the sort of shenanigan that led me to dump
Tivo in favor of MythTV. Mac and Windows solutions weren't considered
because of the strong likelihood that the relevant companies would
act in the same manner as Tivo Corp (as media mogul lapdogs).

rather create a DVD using those Linux apps we're told don't exist.
