Re: [News] Proprietary Office Suites a Waste of Money, Freedom

Verily I say unto thee, that 7 spake thusly:

"More than 1.2 million downloads per week" [1] is hardly "nobody", you
snivelling little fuckwit.

And you do realise that OOo is multi-platform, don't you? Why don't you
bitch about all those Windows freeloaders too? After all, most of them
are probably using a pirate copy of Windows anyway, so that qualifies
them as freeloaders far more accurately than people who simply use
software that is legally Free.

> Its free as in freedom - not free as in freeloaders.

Like so many of the cerebrally challenged Windummy droolers, flatty
doesn't "get" the principles of Free Software, he only understands the
concept of theft, which is not surprising considering his considerable
experience in that area.

Given that virtually everything in Microsoft's portfolio has been
assimilated from others who fell victim to their predatory methods,
I'd say they already *are* freeloaders, in the software development
sense, at least.

Even Word was not created by Microsoft, it originally came from Xerox,
and PowerPoint was originally a product called "Presenter" assimilated
by Microsoft from a company called Forethought.

I'm sure Microsoft would like nothing better than to bury the true
provenance of *all* their "products", but if we had access to the
information then I think you'd find that not even Excel; Access or
Outlook were Microsoft originals. AFAICT the only truly indigenous
product Microsoft ever created was a BASIC interpreter, and even that
was just hobbled together from bits of other people's code that Gates
pulled out of dumpsters. Talk about *freeloaders*. LOL!
