This was just discussed on CNN and it boils down to Ford managing it's
money more efficiently, having a more attractive product line and
trimming costs along the way rather than waiting for the bottom to fall
out before reacting like Chrysler and GM have done.
Ford also has a huge contract with Hertz which accounts for a large
portion of it's sales. The one thing that hurt Ford the most was the huge
drop in SUV sales due to fuel prices.
