Yes. You're an idiot.

It was an attempt at a DDos. Or so Roy claims. But he likes to claim
that to big himself up and make himself seem a "target". Like when his
Linux based web site got hacked because he didn't secure it properly. A
DDos normally slows things up and can cause crashes. It would not affect
how it looked if you get the service. Get it yet?

But good to see you reaching for Wikipedia. It tells us a lot ...
