I apologise if this is far off-topic, but I really would like to get a quick
answer.

One of the main reasons, if not the only one for comment spam, is the
placements of URL's in the Web page. If I can see plenty of comments from
anonymous people without a URL, does it mean it's unlikely to be spam? Is
the spam-bot just faulty? The E-mail address is not shown in the page, so
what's the point? It will not benefit anyone from a search engine's
point-of-view.
