When I run ut2004 in Suse, I see a lot more servers asking for
"validation" -- that I am using an unmodded client.
Again, I think that DRM in itself is a good thing -- however,
Microsoft's implementation is a bad thing.
Reason: Microsoft wants to tie DRM right down to its OS -- for the
simple reason of giving it's OS a purpose. DRM and OS don't have to go
hand in hand. A DRM scheme can ride on top of the OS.
DRM is no more than security and authentication, like https. To the
extent that any data can be validated in order to be used that DRM
scheme is possible.
