I managed to find the item from February 2006 where I mention articles I have
read. Google /clearly/ said that they were *NOT* working on a Web-based
Office-type suite.

Liars! Who knows if they work on Web browsers or an O/S as well (they said
Goobuntu will never reach the public)...
They already have Writely, so expect a Web-based Word from them fairly
shortly. There's already AjaxWord and others that achieve similar things.
Even Zimbra for calendaring, E-mail, and collaboration.
