I'm gadget-savvy and *gadget-dependant*, rather than wealthy... Not
entirely dependent of course, but I make such good use of my PDA that
I always like to have a spare, given the prices second-hand you don't
have to be loaded to have a backup. You don't even need the identical
kit that you've already got, an earlier or lower model will do as long
as it's got the basics that you use. For me that's to-do lists,
calendar, memos, keyring, and sat-nav.

Personally I prefer to depend as little on one thing as possible, that
wasn't possible with the PDA as it's so damned useful so instead I
make sure I have a backup. Given that it's there, I might as well use
it, hence the double-satnav setup. I also have more than one car and
use hire cars from time to time so my old satnav was a PITA as it's
wired and needs a rats-nest of cables, hence the bluetooth backup that
can be moved to another car.
