Have you tried removing them through package management in YaST (probably
Control Panel -> System or Software...)? This would be the ideal route.
Otherwise, you could purge manually from the command-line. Of course, to
remove/disable the lock (file in use), you might have to boot into
command-line mode.

Either way, take the simpler route. You seem to have not found your way
around SuSE yet, but neither have I! *smile* I rarely need to install
software because SuSE is very self-contained.
