No idea, but they intended to go for KDE in some places around Africa.

The MIT folks contacted Red Hat early on, I believe. I am surprised that they
didn't pick the freer and scalable Ubuntu.

I think they are looking for "something leaner", as they once said. The
laptop itself is in its prototyping phase. I believe these are
built/manufactured/tested in Korea.
