BTW, whoever has problem with the stupid alsa can just use the
oss/commercial driver. It's free and will probably be open-sourced some
time (they mentioned it in v4 doc). Read my wiki if you want to try =>

I seem to recall a Wintroll thread awhile ago that the direct access to audio in Windows was a point against Linux. Seems the playing field is being leveled as Windows has to grow up from a toy OS for gamers.
