This was part of the Symantec battle with MS, why MS kicked them out,
because Symantec kept coming up with ways to block the spyware (and hence
spmmer/virus/worm etc based on the same code base) from running or getting
on to peoples machines. MS wants the pop ups and spyware, peoples PCs are
as good an advertising tool as a TV, so the money that can be raked in from
gathering marketing info and target selling is too much to ignore.
