I have always had Windows 'inverted', since (circa) 1999/2000.

There are many inconvenicnes that are associated with the defaults which are
difficult to change as much as required. For advanced users, that same old,
mind-backward-compatible 'Windows 95 in a new dress' thingie just ain't
suitable. Third-party software won't bring home the bacon because it doesn't
move houses. The key to success is an operating system that gives you
control over it. A KDE desktop, for example, can achieve a lot in its own
right.
