Please do not port software to Windows!
Hi,
I am anti windows and think that it would only be good if it benefited
us in some way. Providing linux applications in windows is a good way
to migrate people especially businesses to linux.
For example if you move a small business over in one hit the employees
are going to complain and say linux is shit when really they are upset
with the programs because they are not used to them yet.
If you slowly introduce applications and get them used to them then
there is going to be less complaining and if there is a particular app
that people dislike then it is not linux that is crap but that app.
You can find another app to replace it or give them more training and
the bosses are not hearing all their staff complain about linux. When
you do switch them to linux then you won't hear them say that it is
bad because they are used to all the apps (the main thing they care
about) before you made the switch.
If you try to switch someone or a company over to linux right off the
bat and they have a bad experience trying to pick up some apps they
will blame linux and be unlikely to try again but if they have
problems with individual applications then you are not tarnishing
everything linux just one app and you can try to give more training or
another app.
get them doing everything they do with free software on windows then
switch them to linux.
