Very good analysis of the situation.  JBOSS is the open source
implementation of
J2EE.  The nice thing is that it provides diversity to Red Hat's
revenue stream.

There are different kinds of investors looking for different kinds of
investments.
Value investors look for quarter by quarter growth where both revenue
and net profits
are increasing gradually.

Growth investors are looking for companies that are making the kinds
of investments
designed to fuel and support huge growth in revenue that will
eventually generate
significant profits.

Several companies who have strategic use of Open Source, have been
able to
generate both substantial revenue growth, and moderately high profit
margins.
