For backup purposes (e.g. photos and documents), I told my mother that she
ought to have Linux installed so that I can set up a script or periodically
SSH/SCP to grab backups and put them on my PCs. I see many people whose data
goes as far back as the last hard-drive crash or Windows failure. Some of
them would rewrite their CV, for example, from memory or from some printed
copy. It's not quite so funny.
