Yes, and I feel guilty about this. I know people who work at Novell
(blogsphere) and they may suffer because of the management's poor judgment.
It also refects badly on the employees, which is why many of them leave. And
since you mentioned Microsoft, recent aggressive move from the management
(e.g. Ballmer's threats to Linux and ridicule of Apple, Google and others)
has a similar effect on Microsoft. The hiring barriers have been lowered and
Gates either offshores or brings folks from aboard. mini microsoft makes it
clear that the staff is unhappy (unrest), Bob X C says that many execs
retire and live in the prairies (suburbs) filled with guilt, and 'best
companies to work for' ladder shows Microsoft sinking while Google grabs the
number one spot.
